Mr. Willie Rogers

Proud Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Psi Alpha Chapter

The United Crowns Mobile Museum of Black History & Culture extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Willie Rogers, whose commitment and generosity have profoundly impacted our mission. A retired Air Force Master Sergeant (MSgt) with 23 years of distinguished service, Mr. Rogers exemplifies leadership, excellence, and perseverance. His dedication to uplifting and preserving Black history and culture serves as an enduring inspiration to all who encounter our work.

As a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Psi Alpha Chapter (Home of the Alamo City Ques) in San Antonio, TX, since April 10, 2021, Mr. Rogers is known as "Ace Dawg-21-Psi Alpha." He is a part of the esteemed "8 Sons of Chaos and Perseverance," embodying the fraternity's rich legacy of brotherhood, scholarship, and service that has profoundly shaped Black culture and history.

Mr. Rogers has graciously donated a pair of golden Omega Psi Phi stepping boots adorned with purple laces to the United Crowns Mobile Museum. These boots are more than just a piece of fraternity regalia; they are a powerful symbol of the rich tradition of stepping within Black fraternities and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Stepping, a percussive dance form that uses the body as an instrument, is a vital cultural expression within Black Greek organizations. Step shows, which showcase synchronized and intricate footwork, hand claps, and vocal chants, have become a hallmark of Black fraternity life, celebrating unity, resilience, and cultural pride.

Founded in 1911 at Howard University, Omega Psi Phi was the first international fraternal organization to be established on the campus of a historically Black college. The fraternity is dedicated to the upliftment of African Americans, promoting social justice, and fostering the development of its members through community service, scholarship, and leadership. The Psi Alpha Chapter continues this legacy, making a lasting impact in San Antonio and beyond.

Mr. Rogers your generous contribution ensures that the United Crowns Mobile Museum can continue its mission to educate, inspire, and honor the rich history and contributions of Black people. Thank you for your unwavering support and for being a beacon of excellence in our community.
