Collection: Dr. Roosevelt Allen, Major General, USAF (ret.)
We are deeply thankful to Dr. Roosevelt Allen for his generous donation of a United States Air Force Airman Battle Uniforms (ABUs) with accompanying cap, ABU T-shirt, and Moral T-Shirt, along with other personal items to the United Crowns Mobile Museum of Black History & Culture. These invaluable contributions will significantly enhance both our U.S. Military Display and Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Display, allowing us to honor and celebrate the rich history and achievements of African Americans in these fields.
Dr. Roosevelt Allen, DDS, MAGD, ABGD, serves as the Chief Dental Officer at United Concordia Dental, where he leads efforts to improve oral and overall health through interprofessional collaboration, advanced dental technology, and education on the critical link between oral and systemic health. His leadership extends to overseeing professional affairs, dental directors, and clinical and dental policy, further solidifying United Concordia's commitment to improving access to care and addressing social determinants of health. Since joining United Concordia in 2018, Dr. Allen has been an integral part of the leadership team, previously serving as the Dental Director of Government Business. In this role, he was responsible for guiding clinical and dental policy for key customers, including the Department of Defense, Highmark Wholecare, and Highmark Health Options.
Before his tenure at United Concordia, Dr. Allen retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Major General, following a distinguished career spanning over 30 years. In his capacity as Medical Operations Director and Chief of the Dental Corps, Office of the Air Force Surgeon General, he was responsible for executing healthcare policy for 44,000 military members across 75 medical treatment facilities in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He also provided strategic guidance and operational advice for more than 3,500 military dental professionals.
Dr. Allen's educational background is equally impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lincoln University, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University. He also completed the Comprehensive General Dentistry Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Allen is an active member of the dental community. He is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) and holds fellowships in the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) and the American College of Dentistry (ACD). He is also a dedicated member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
